Lazy Biebs McGee

Earlier this evening, I caught a glimpse of this photo of Justin Bieber riding on the shoulders of his bodyguards up the stairs of the Great Wall of China:

Is this really necessary?  Are you really that lazy, Biebs?  Or is that you’re so full of yourself that you believe you should be carried up one of the Seven Wonders of the World as though you’re some sort of royalty?  I didn’t see people fanning you on your way up, but I wouldn’t put that past you.

It seems as though every day, we hear about some celebrity’s latest poor choice, whether it’s Miley Cyrus’ X-rated performance on the MTV Video Music Awards or Amanda Bynes throwing a bong out her window.  Why can’t every former Disney or Disney-like celeb turn out like Justin Timberlake?  (Am I right?)  Now celebrities can’t even walk up steps?  Lord, help those bodyguards when JB wants to visit the Egyptian pyramids.

I have to say, I am most disappointed by the string of Bieber blunders over the past several months—multiple drug allegations, speeding and running a muck in his neighborhood, spitting on fans, swearing, and now this.  What sort of message does this kind of behavior send to our kids?  Seriously, the list of respectable role models for this generation is becoming increasingly thin each day.

Why am I so disappointed in the Biebs, you ask?  Well, in 2011, on a whim, my friend and I decided to see the Justin Bieber movie, Never Say Never.  We both left the theater as instant-fans.  We even stopped at the store on our way home to buy buttons and t-shirts to wear to work that Friday—with a blazer of course.  This was Washington, D.C. mind you.  A month later, I saw JB in concert in Paris.  I had reverted back to tween years, and I wasn’t ashamed.

Boom.
Boom.

For Halloween that year, I dressed up as a Trampled Belieber.

Pretty legit, right?

Notice the actual tween-sized footprints.

All along, I’ve been rooting for JB, hoping he wouldn’t go into the downward spiral that so many young celebs often go, but I’m afraid hope might be lost at this point.  Where did that adorable little talented boy playing the drums in the home video go?

Dear Biebs,

Get it together.

Sincerely,
